MAREGA PALSER

Marega has worked as a freelance dancer/performer since graduating from the London Contemporary Dance School in 1986. She has co-formed companies including Paradox Shuffle, SumoSaki, as well as collaborating with many artists, musicians and theatre companies both in this country and abroad. She is currently one half of the performance duo 'Mr and Mrs Clark', and has recently completed a BA Honours degree specialising in printmaking at Howard Gardens, UWIC, Cardiff.

The Horse Gal character developed from drawings, into a performance, which in turn grew into images for printmaking. Exploring the idea of the animal within, the work is a playful mix set somewhere between the funfair and the slaughterhouse; conveying a sense of vulnerability and strength, of being aroused and disturbed at the same time... with planty of room for variation.

Marega recently had work selected for the International Student show at The Today Museum in Beijing, China, and the National Artist Book Exhibition in Seoul, Korea. She currently has a solo show as part of the 'Assembly-Art in the Bar' series in Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff.
