56 GROUP WALES

To co-incide with an exhibition of 'exciting work by nineteen current members of 56 Group Wales, one of Wales’s longest established and most prestigious exhibiting groups of artists', David Moore will be giving an illustrated talk entitled '56 Group Wales: Past & Present’

David Moore, curator, art historian, has written for a wide range of publications. He was instrumental in assembling one of the most important permanent art collections in Wales, with particular emphasis on Welsh contemporary art, during his curatorship at the Brecknock Museum and Art Gallery in Brecon, Powys.

SPREAD - In celebration of the Abergavenny Food Festival

'Kitchen Antics and Appliances' invite you to be participants as they dish up their own particular brand of house keeping and attempt to unpick the meaning of life.
In celebration of the Abergavenny Food Festival The Art Shop is hosting a Spread of events by the artists Barbara Dean, Hilary Kneale and Ann Rapstoff, who have been researching their own domestic lineage through the museum collection at The Museum of Domestic Design & Architecture (MoDA) London. During Spread, they will be delivering a feast of collected thoughts, happenings, questions, menus and objects for your delectation, inspiration and participation.

THE WOODLAND GARDEN

Ivor Stokes will show how 'The Woodland Garden' has evolved from the stylised 'Wilderness' of the 18th century to the subtle naturalistic displays of exotic plants that they are known for today.
