JADE GUNTER

Born in Abergavenny and raised inTredegar. I have always had an artistic desire to express myself, I decided I wanted to make jewellery when I was 17. I took an opportunity of an apprenticeship in a local jewellers, where I feel I gained most of my experience at the bench, repairing, sizing and comissioning pieces.

I then went on to study at the University of Central England in Birmingham where I acquired a HND in Jewellery & Silversmithing. The course was a fantastic opportunity to experiment with different methods and explore our personal style from design to realisation.

I love the sentimentality of jewellery, each item bought for a reason; a gift or souvenir. The wearer will treasure for the memories attatched. It almost becomes part of you; I feel bare without mine. I work predominently in silver. My designs are bold, elegant and simple, with organic shapes. I consider myself a bohemian so I take inspiration from all aspects of nature and other cultures.

As my work is entirely handmade each piece is unique, stamped 925.
