‘I enjoy working with a wide variety of materials, making use of whatever is available, including reclaimed fabric, plastic & found objects; usually the medium inspires the end product. Recently, I have returned to my first love of silversmithing.
In Cornwall, I am surrounded by the sea and my inspiration comes from literally everything around me but in particular the repeat rhythms, patterns and shapes occurring in nature- leaves on branches, fallen petals, clusters of seeds and their cases. I’m an avid collector of small, tactile objects; bits of plastic and metal washed up on the beach that have entirely lost their original shape; pebbles & shells moulded into sculptural forms; seedpods which may have travelled thousands of miles.’
