Simon trained at UWE Bristol (1985-88), with residencies at the Royal Academy School of Art (1991), Royal National College for the Blind (Hereford) and Research Fellowship at Bath Spa University College.

Simon has exhibited widely, including Galerie Besson (London), Crafts Council, Barrett Marsden Gallery (London), the V&A Museum and a one man show at Tate St. Ives (2006)
